Yatkuu Posted April 17, 2012 Hello! Last week I went on holiday with the German charter airline TUI and "oh surprise" they where selling this nice little exclusive set on board... so I take this as an opportunity to do my first LEGO set review. Name: Glider Number: 4442 Theme: CITY Release: 2012 (April) Pieces: 102 Figures: 2 Price: EUR €16, GB £15 Links ... Brickset ... Bricklink Availability: In-flight purchase on TUI flights and from Virgin Atlantic (UK delivery only) The box The box is very "dense", makes sense as they don't have much room in the plane to store them. Here is a comparison shot with a regular set (176 pieces). The Figs 2 nice figs, both with back printing. Cool hair pieces too. The pieces The build Here is a shot of the instruction page showing how to take the wings off. Bonus shot, comparison with 7643 (another airline exclusive) Conclusion They had me at the word "exclusive"...that being said it's a nice little set that comes with cool Figs. The plane is simple but swooshable and it would be a good addition to any LEGO airport. The car is very basic but the trailer has a clever design and the possibility to "transport" the plane adds to the playability. Overall a winner! Thanks for watching! The Blue Brick Posted April 17, 2012 This is a very nice set. The size of the box is very interesting, especially with the comparison shot. The plane is cool, but the shape of the car is not to my liking. I most likely won't be able to get this set unless i brick link or ebay it though.
just2good Posted April 17, 2012 Excellent review, 'Yatkuu'! I hate how I always miss out on the airline promos. This one isn't as good as the others, but it's still a pretty cool set.
caperberry Posted April 17, 2012 Thanks for the review. Are the minifig prints & hairpieces new?
lightningtiger Posted April 18, 2012 Nice review 'Yatkuu', no surprise on the box size if they are for sale on-board an aircraft (space is an issue). The car looks too basic, glider is different for a change I guess. Handy to have those minifigs, similar to the ones in the car and caravan set except for the guy's head. Review On 'Yatkuu' ! Yatkuu Posted April 18, 2012 Are the minifig prints & hairpieces new? I'm afraid there is nothing new in this set, the MF are pretty much the same as in the Set 4435 (car & camper).

Ferrik Posted October 14, 2012 The glider looks great and you get a nice car, so yeah it's a good set. Excellent review too.
escortmad79 Posted October 14, 2012 (edited) Hoping BA still have these available so my wife can bring me one home from Chicago, although it's no longer available on Highlife Edited October 14, 2012 by escortmad79
tomdobs55 Posted October 15, 2012 (edited) For some reason the car bugs me. I don't know what it is but something just seems "off" about it, it seems too long. But overall I like the set. I do like the glider, something different in a Lego airport. Edited October 15, 2012 by tomdobs55
solta Posted October 17, 2012 I just love this glider. Very simple and very elegant at the same time.
