I suppose so, but most on this scale have at least a bit of room for at least a V4.

But most of the sets of that scale are not as innovative as 8109.

So, basically all you did is put longer axles on the rear and that's it?

Nope. All the parts (exept the yellow bushes) are replaced with other parts.

You can compare my solution to how it looks originally:

@Anio - I agree, the 8109 is an excellent flatbed, the winch is great for pulling smaller vehicles onto the deck.

you also have to move a few axles

actually you have to move a few bricks to make a tandem axle

I am quite a fan of this set and will be purchasing another copy or two soon just to add to my parts collection. I have also designed and build a MOD for the B model (Wheelie bin truck) which can be found on my blog.

I have built both models multiple times and find both to be worth the time to build, I personally prefer the B model.
