Heroica: The Sands of Kemet

My kids have enjoyed playing Heroica, and the idea of making very small-scale MOCs is appealing. The first was done in time for my oldest son's 7th birthday. It turned out to be a hit. The Egypt theme came about mostly due to having picked up some Ramses Pyramid and Rise of the Sphinx sets to break down into pieces.

This is awesome! I especially like the Anubis statues you've made. This is an excellent MOC set - I'd love to see more Egyptian themed boards! What would you use as the Legendary Weapon for this board? Staff of Ra?

You could use this part:

This is a great board! Heroica dives into the desert!

This is a really nice board! Totally in line with the official boards.

What are the rules for the rubble piles with the dagger?

You're son should be proud :)

Thanks everyone. I was surprised that more themed Heroica boards haven't been created. I've seen some, but this was the first Egyptian one.

The link at the bottom of the post is to the full entry on my website about Lego.

However, here are the rules we came up with for traps:

Traps

When you move into a space adjacent to a trap roll the dice.

“Shield” = the trap is removed and you find one gold.

“Sword” = the trap is removed.

“Skull” = you lose one Health and move back one space.

“Sword & Skull” = lose one Health and remove the trap.

We didn't come up with a unique weapon for this board. What the kids and I arrived at was the "Elixir of Life" that restores 4 health and can be used immediately if a monster reduces your hero to zero. The kids seemed to like that idea better than others we thought up; it works quite well in gameplay.

Do you have building instructions, or at least a list of pieces, to build this set? The sphinx looks quite intricate!

Very good job!!

That is an awesome MOC. It really does look like TLG could have produced it. Well done.

However, please resize your pictures to 800x600 or smaller as per EB policy. Thank you.

Great M.O.C. !

I especially like the sphynx : you were inspired by n°5978 Sphynx Secret Surprise (one of my favorite set) did you?

I was just about to ask that. I knew the face looked familiar. This board does have that Adventurers vibe, even if it is Heroica.

Wow, that really is a remarkable board. How long doe sit take to play? It looks even longer than Fortaan.

Just noticed this. Looks great, well done. I recently picked up Ilrion and decided to expand my existing board a bit, and added an extra desert level with the mummies just as you have (unaware that anyone else had done this already)... why didn't I think of scorpions though? Yours is a million times better than mine of course!

This is what LEGO Games should be like. "Be creative and make your own." Very good!

Ooooh, this is cool. It looks just like something Lego would have made! I love your anubis statues and that little tomb for the mummy.
