on the end 2011 beginning 2012, I have decided to demolish the layout

it is a old layout 2003-2004 and ended on 2011

All the nine volt becomes dismantled…

All nine volt must be gone and all the rest (buildings and landscape to…

This is a sad job. But no need…. ,

we work hard on the attic for a rebuild

Everything are modernised, there comes automatic signals…

everything what is on the track will be dedected and will become on the pc

the track is divided in sectors (parts)

every part becomes provide with electricity and connected on the pc.

al the trains and traincars will be dedected

see more of the rebuild:

with exclusive pictures

at the end of the tracks new buffers have been introduced

the old trainbuffers are not beautiful, I wants more detail and put in authenticit.

the older trainbuffers are just bricks on each other,

for the stability

Wow Patrick, this is a massive plan that you're implementing, the idea looks fantastic! It's sad to see your old layout taken apart, but I'm sure the new one will be bigger and better.

It looks like there's a lot of custom stuff you're using for the signalling, can you give us any details on the electronics, interface to the computer, and software in use?

I love the picture of the train yard at night, but then you've always been great with LEDs and electronics. Good luck with the new project!

I will give certainly explanation

when everything work perfectly

then I take pictures of the plates and other stuf

At the present we have a problem with signals and pc. + sofware.

the test program works perfectly.

from the pc we can change the signals …

dedection works perfectly.

But the programme which does the communication, of the signals and the dedection of the tracks,

if a train stand still ore passed, and addapted the signals,

this program dont work.

the programme is written by a friend.

Sunday we work further for the communication

Meanwhile I have find errors that i gave removed in the dedection of the tracks on the layout… that is now solved…

I promise you to give explanation if everything work perfectly.

see more on:

thanks for the interest

soon I give a new update

I work on it to finish the signals

and touched the pieces between the rails

the train becomes dedected and further the signals

changed. see picture:

belgium_signals3.jpg_thumb.jpg

Fantastic stuff

Is that PF track or your self-made 9v track, as the picture is quite dark?

Just as if it's 9v then the train automatically stops every time? Is there an override for that?

these are ordinary 9 volt tracks

that become divided in pieces of approximately 1m30

this is a sector. every sector still have a piece of 4 pieces straight rails…

this part will stop the train … by means of a relay (more later)

(a second small sector in the large sector)

with 4 little papers you make a sector

2 along both sides,

his part is no more conected to the other rails

and you have a sector.

papers:

That is a SWEET addition :sweet:

I think most people (myself included) would have been tempted to do that 2 studs wide. The fact that you've gone for one stud wide makes it look even nicer in my opinion.

A very nice detail to add that not many would notice. Well played :sweet:

The first test programme changes all signals in 1 time of colour.

(test phase)

With update of the new programme

I can give a colour one 1 signal only or to several signals

Every signal must get a address, the pc. recognises the signal…

and can change that…

every signal gets a serial number in the next step….

Nice to see your updates Patrick, I'm currently working on Dutch style signals with PF possibility. Your signals look nice! And of course your layout too, but that is no news in your case ;)
