It was an epic campaign and those of you who ran made an amazing effort and really energized the forum over that last 24 hours! Overall 52 members cast their votes today; from a population of exactly 23063 eligible members, meaning voter turnout was about 0.225% (Perhaps the worst voting turnout in history?) Nonetheless, those who cast their votes have selected Mr. Mittenlander as the first leader of Mitagrdia's Parliament. @Mittenlander (Khorne) Please prepare a small paragraph describing who your candidate is, what he stands for and what he plans to do. If you could build a small 16X16 vignette of him at a desk/podium etc inside a castle that would be great, I'll update the front page of the Guild thread with it. Maxim I Posted March 12, 2012 Over the last years, the Socialist party of Mitgardia has striven for an election like this. how many of you have payed an election tax? I'm sure many of you. The socialist party strives to reduce the taxes in order to make our nation equally rich as the other guilds. Our party also seeks to give the young a chance at learning. Under my jurisdiction, education in the arts of Music, Art, and Magic will be improved and cheapened, to the point that education is free, in order to provide a more unified, intelligent Mitgardia. Other education, particularly religious, historical, and Fighting arts will also be cheapened to an affordable cost of FREE! Must be the reason the Kaliphlins didn't voted for you Congratz to Willihard Mittenlander for winning!! We all hope that the relations between our 2 bueautiful guilds will flourish like never seen! There's no such thing as oversupporting Mitt . Now in all seriousness, this was a fun experience and I really think it added a certain 'buzz' towards the whole Guilds of Historica project/subforum. I'd like to share some thoughts of mine on the whole event: I've said it before, but I found it truly amazing to watch Dark Dragon (and Ecclesiastes) gather all of those votes without actually having to do much . I'm sure those nice MOCs illustrating her character had an impact and the fact she was the only woman running for PM. On that note, it was also interesting to see me win, even though I was one of the only candidates who hadn't built any MOCs to accompany my story. Another bizarre observation: "Fair treatment of minority magical beings" is chosen as the second most important topic by voters, even though almost none of the candidates actually supported that idea (except Giberte). Two of Mitt's more important themes ( taxes and autonomy) are rated the lowest, yet I did gather most of the votes . To finish off, I'd like to thank those voted for me again. I really appreciate it . This was a fun experience. If any of you want to comment on why you voted for Mitt (or what your motives were to vote on another character) please do share.
