ADHO15 Posted July 24, 2011 (edited) Hello everyone. With the release of the final Harry Potter film (which was brilliant, may I add) and while planning for an upcoming project, I decided to make a miniature model of the beautiful, but ever-changing Hogwarts Castle. My version is mostly based on that featured in the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (though less damaged), but may also incorporate features from the castle as seen in previous films. And the LXF File...(see here) I know that some parts of the castle aren't quite in scale or positioned perfectly, and some locations are yet to be built. The model is still a work-in-progress, so comments, criticisms and improvements are very welcome. Thank you for looking. Aredhel Posted July 24, 2011 This is a nice creation - Good overview of the castle and as said the bridge is really great! Thanks for sharing -Aredhel
Mr_Malfoy Posted July 24, 2011 Nice mini ! It's really accurate-looking, but I think that the top of Gryffindor tower seems too big. And yes, the last movie was brilliant!
MattieG7 Posted July 24, 2011 :O That's amazing! It looks so detailed and accurate! How long did it take you to make that?
Professor Flitwick Posted July 24, 2011 Impressive build, my friend, though I wouldn't mind seeing some of the nearby landscape/grounds; no amount of magic would let that bridge float like that! Though seeing as it's a WIP, it's pretty perfect so far! Seeing as this is a WIP, what part of Hogwarts is next?
Hoboman Posted July 25, 2011 Wow, that looks like a lot of work and effort went into the design. I am impressed.
ADHO15 Posted July 25, 2011 (edited) Thank you very much for your kind comments everyone. It's really accurate-looking, but I think that the top of Gryffindor tower seems too big. Which do you think is Gryffindor tower? If it is on the far side of the Quad in this picture, it looks taller than the tower with the stone bridge. It was a rough guess really. How long did it take you to make that? Not very long really. I completed it in about a week, working on it for a couple of hours each day. Impressive build, my friend, though I wouldn't mind seeing some of the nearby landscape/grounds; no amount of magic would let that bridge float like that! Seeing as this is a WIP, what part of Hogwarts is next? Why the grounds, of course. Also adding and correcting things mentioned here. I guess the Quad could use a bit more work too. Ceroknight Posted August 13, 2011 (edited) It looks fantastic but.... Quidditch pitch! Edited August 13, 2011 by ceroknight
ADHO15 Posted August 15, 2011 how long did it take to make ??? Like I said, I'd made the majority of the castle within a week. The extra V2 additions didn't take very long. It looks fantastic but.... Quidditch pitch! Haha, that will be tricky, but I'll give it a go. Thanks you.
