WARNING!!!

You have used 6 points but not verified any bonus points. Failure to do so before voting closes will render all your points invalid!

Otherwise eliminate 1 point to bring your total to 5 points.

"No Match"-Alaina Cillis : 3 points (Not the old "Jack sparrow escapes from X", like mine was. :pir-blush: )

"Another Escape"-(Myself): 1 point

"The Veteran"-greg3: 2 points (if I interpreted the bonus points correctly) Very well told.

Bricks4Fun My Dinner with Jacqueline - 5 points

Definetely the best entry!

Mstrofppts AS new set acquired - 1 point

Toltomeja Flying Dutchman & Woodchuck Norris - 1 point

My story title is not FD vs Wn, it should be FD and WN, as they don't fight with each other. It's not a big difference, just wanted to make it clear :pir_laugh2:

Good luck to all!

Superb entries by all. It was hard to choose my favorites (and not just because it took so long to find the time to read them all).

3 Points - Duke's "Barbossa's Ballad" - Nicely done. The imagery and just general quality is why this was my top choice. Doesn't hurt that it rhymes.

2 Points - SilvaShado's "Pirate Plank" - I loved the thought of the pirates all playing the game. Well written, too.

2 Points - greg3's "The Veteran" - Your veteran Redcoat was such a very detailed and sympathetic character. That's an incredible accomplishment in 300 words.

1 Point - Alaina Cillis "No Match" - I had to give you a point for the most accurate description of Jack Sparrow in this contest. :pir_laugh2:

Blackpyre Jack Sparrow can't escape the Classics : 3 points

Duke Brabossa's Ballad : 2points

I could have split them down to 1 point each with some of the other great entries but these guys won me over and I'd like to see them place.

Good luck all.

Damn I hate reading :D I have finally break through all the entries and will share some feelings here (doubt someone will read them, but still). First of all thanks for a great contest it was much fun and many promising entries were written. The idea of the constructive critics was also nice and the entrants posting their stories as WIPs helped to improve them even more. Though I am a bit disappointed with the amount of voters. Only a few days left and not even on the second page yet! I wish the community would share some more respect to the entrants. Anyway, here are my votes:

2 points for Duke - Brabossa's Ballad (I think this was the most unique and the best entry. Writing a poem was a great idea and also the realization was very appealing.)

2 points for greg3 - The Veteran (Also a unique entry, probably the only (serious) one not having problems with the word limit for setting the base completely different.)

1 point for Macoco - "Where's all the rum then" (This one really made me laugh. The jokes and the references are awesome!)

1 point for operrier - Rescue on the Imperial Flagship (This one also had some funny lines with great references as well.)

1 point for blackpyre - Jack Sparrow can't escape the Classics (Nice usage of words, though not making it to complicated (for a foreigner) and an interesting ending.)

I regret I didn't have time to write some more reviews or comments lately. First the holidays and then too much work. Can't be at all the places at once ...

Good luck to everyone!

This was such an enjoyable contest, I was glad to be a part of it. Here are my votes:

RocketSeason The Compass 1 point (This one totally captured the essence of POTC for me. A serious, and tense exchange between Norrington and Redbeard; Bravo!)

Mstrofppts A New Set Acquired 1 point (For a non native English speaker, I thought you did very well and also came a long way with your story. Great job!)

Greg3 The Veteran 1 point (What can I say, this one completely won me over, I think it is the best entry in the contest; nice work!)

Bricks4Fun My Dinner with Jacqueline 1 point (I allocate 1 point for myself)

Macoco Where's all the rum then? (Another story that made huge strides in improvement; such great input from all critics turned this one into a contender.)

Good Luck to Everyone!

I allocate all six (6) of my points to.... Greg3 for the short story "The Veteran"

This is because I believe it is a well written story, with deep meaning.

It tells a story of a brief meeting on a foggy night, but also the story of many lego fans around the world who went digging for their forgotten redcoats with the launch of POTC.

This subtle underscore of reality, with a dash of lego history and POTC lore, create a superb short story.

It captures everything I expected from this competition and from my lego experiences as well.

Great job Greg3 and keep up the good work!

Here's my votes...

2 votes for Blackpyre's Jack Sparrow can't escape the Classics - As soon as I read this one I thought "What a great story... funny, well written just perfect!!".

2 votes for Duke's Brabossa's Ballad - A well written poem that still manages to tell a story.

1 vote for RocketSeason's The Compass - I really liked the dialogue and description in this one.

1 vote for my own entry The Veteran

I have to say that I've really enjoyed reading all the entries so well done to everyone who took the time and effort to enter.
