GBREAL Posted May 17, 2011 I was wondering what is the most effective method to get ldd models to other applications. Basically I want to go from LDD to 3D Studio Max. The methods I have used is LDD to export ldr files then use an ldr to obj converter and LDD to ML CAD to Leo Cad to obj. The problem is that parts get lost between transfers. For example, ML Cad doesn't have the parts that LDD has. Are there any other solutions?
Brickdoctor Posted May 17, 2011 The only way I know of is basically how you did it the first time; .lxf to .ldr to .3ds using LDD and LeoCAD. Don't know of any way to get around the parts problem other than to build in .ldr format in the first place or model your own parts.
GBREAL Posted May 18, 2011 Thanks for the reply. I guess LDD has parts that ML Cad and Leocad just don't support. The part I was needing was number 30105 "Minifig Accessory Helmet with Bat Wings." Thanks anyway.
