[KEY TOPIC] Official Lego sets made in LDraw

Recommended Posts

A little break from the Creator polybags. I found this idea book between my other instructions, and than I saw the Excavator; years ago, it was always a dream of me to build that thing one day. And now; I finally did... on a PC

Oh, and all the animations work perfect in sr3d Builder

I totally missed the last picture in the instructions, I'll update it in a minute updated

Is it okay to post a lot of files in one post, or is it better to try to separate the files into different posts for indexing reasons?

I am almost done with all the Castle Classics. With the new LDraw release, I am looking through all the old files that I did a while back, but couldn't post and trying to update them. It's tedious, but I'm getting there. :classic:

Well, it's smarter to don't post too many sets in 1 post, because I can only link to post, and not to a piece in a post. So, when someone clicks a link and gets redirected to a post with 50 sets, he still has to search for the set.

So, I think around 10 sets a post is good :classic:

There is actually a disadvantage to split it up in multile posts; when you post a post, and directly after the last one (I think the limt is about 15/30 minutes or so) you post another post, the forum software makes one post of them. So, after each post, you have to wait some time to post the next one. Hmm, I think my explanation is a bit messy.

I figured as much. Not a problem. I will get to uploading them on brickshelf. I still have to check to make sure I got all of the sets in the separate themes and that I didn't accidentally leave any, especially the minifig building packs out.

I've started to play around with lighting and sky spheres in POV-Ray, to try and get more interesting reflections on the models, as they can often look quite flat, hence the blue hue to the floor. It also improves the look of metallic parts that would usually have strong reflections.

It doesn't show up too well with these models, although I ran a test using a chrome version of Lightning McQueen which showed off the (exaggerated) effect quite well.

Concerning the 10212: you should make a version with wings up or the cranks placed at approbiate position because i need the model with wings up to test out something im currently building in LDraw. The wings-down versiondoesnt fit at that space unfortunately

EDIT:

\/ followed his hints

Something like this?

BTW; could you edit your post and only quote the 10212 part, to keep the page a bit clean :classic:

* getting angry* After loading it with SR-3d-Builder and then saving it as basic dat-file(im ML-CAD-USer) ML-Cad spits out exact this file with an abnormal program termination. Thats annoying because im used to the MLCAD-Route and all other parts of my project are in a mlcad-file, too.. I dont know what causes that :-(. And i verified it qiht another file that it is a file-specific-problem.

HEre the erroring file:

You can try to just replace the .l3b to .ldr

It always works for me :classic:

same error. wont work, too :-( Thats just an extra-annoying glitch :-( There must be a way tofix that error.

Any idea out there?
