The collection to date. I started building Talavai last weekend in preparation for a show at the Tempe History Museum and then built Palavitkuna and Angwusnasomtaka respectively. I had been thinking about building a kachina for about two years now.

I feel that my collection and skill set were finally at the point that I could build a kachina with the accuracy and reverence it deserves.

See the whole set and look at each individual kachina for more information.

This looks great.

After a short visit to wikipedia I got the idea.

Hello!

I don't see sculptures that often here, so I am pleased to see these. :classic: Attaching plates vertically around a centered studs-on-all-sides core works perfectly here to get a round shape. The clip plates as finish of the clothes towards the floor look extremely good. :classic:

Cheers,

~ Christopher

Really good work here, Dave. I like how you've still gone for a studsy aesthetic on the headdresses, even though it could have been easier not to - but it makes them look more uniform.

My favourite is the little guy on the right - very cute.

I can't help feeling the one in the middle's face looks like some sort of SW clone (I know very little about SW, so forgive me if I'm wrong!)

Keep it up!
