grohl666's Lego 8271 Set Alternate MOCs -- 23 Total!

12 posts in this topic

The 8271 Wheel Loader Set from 2007 ( http://peeron.com/inv/sets/8271-1 ) has been made into 23 different MOCs :oh3: by "grohl666". I know of no other set that has been made into so many different MOCs by one builder. Originally costing US$20, the 200 pieces in this set look like this when building the standard 8271 model:

Check his Bricklink gallery periodically; he may think of another Alternative MOC!

I love it when people manage to turn such a small collection of parts into so many creative models. Great job!

Made the magpie myself!

Love it!

Even made a video of it some time ago.

(with a little mistake, which was promptly corrected by it's designer..

Very nice. These models remind me of the concepts and building styles in the old Universal sets.

The number of Grohl's alternate builds for the Lego 8271 set is now up to 30 :sweet: -- download a single PDF file with all of the pictures here via MegaUpload SkyDrive. They are sorted by the various creations' names. It would be fun to build all 30 of them on Grohl's Brickshelf gallery!

Very, very clever all 30 submodels!

MONSTER TRUCK -- "Rubber bands return the rear axle always back to the central positon" (6 pics at http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=354318 ):

Sorry to correct you, DLuders... That's actually made of parts from set '8290 Mini Forklift' of 2008.

Notice: 8271 comes with neither a blue rubber band nor those wheels-

8290-1.jpg

But 8290 does.

@ TheDesuComplex: Thanks for catching that; I edited the original post. :classic: The PDF file containing Grohl's 30 Alternates had the correct "Monster Truck".
