I would like to do something like the Siege of Khartoum or even te Boer War for it. As of now, we don't have plans for a new Bayonets at Dawn Contest, but you never know. I'm not the resident battle expert, so I'm probably not the one to ask. Captain Blackmoor Posted May 14, 2010 Late 19th century battles fall outside the age of sail, and out of the true pirate age. Of course piracy still exists, but a line has to be drawn somewhere. A late 19th century battle fits better in the Historic themes forum. There are plenty of battles in the age of sail, also with islanders. Captain Cook for example. British soldiers still had their red coats during the Wild West time. It is a border which is hard to make or to see. The true age of pirates ended when the age of sail ended. I`m just wondering, when is that? They still used sail up to the early 20th century, but I thought we should put 20th century in City, or Historic themes. I do not think I will be able to enter this contest, The end date is a few days after Last day at school, ever. So this week will be a busy planning week and the weekend will be a celebration. The more entries we have, the better, last time there were some members complaining the board didn't show the right time or something, so I wanted to overcome that problem this way.
