Erdbeereis Posted March 5, 2010 (edited) The Northern Cardinal, or Cardinalis Cardinalis, is a bird commonly found in the middle to eastern portions of the U.S.A and Mexico. The males are easily distinguishable by their bright red color, which resemble the cardinals of the Roman Catholic Church, thus giving them the name "Cardinal". Thanks! Etzel Posted March 5, 2010 Nice work, Erdbeereis! I'm not familiar with this bird but all the different slopes and angles gives it a feathered look that is very good. All the SNOT-work looks very advanced and difficult to make. And I really like the use of crossbows as feet.

Alex the Great Posted March 5, 2010 I see this bird in Canada too, and you did a good representation of it. Nice job!
samurai-turtle Posted March 6, 2010 The only thing wrong with it is the feet need to be bigger. Other wise
Rick Posted March 6, 2010 Nice work Erdy. You captured the shape really nicely. I especially like the 'neck' (?) the rounded bit immediately behind the black.
I Scream Clone Posted March 6, 2010 The only thing wrong with it is the feet need to be bigger. Other wise I actually think the crossbow feet are in good proportion to the cardinal. Well done Erdy, its is an amazing work of art!
Erdbeereis Posted March 6, 2010 Thanks guys! Funny, at first I thought the feet might be too big. The actual feet are quite small actually.
Legostein Posted March 6, 2010 Hello! Nice combination of slopes to give this cute bird shape. Which you can only see only in the zoo here unfortunately. Cheers, ~ Christopher
Fires-storm Posted March 7, 2010 An amazing job on this beautiful bird, mate! We have quite a number of these little guys raid our birdfeeders every summer, and enjoy seeing them come around. You got it pretty much exactly right, excellent work, and keep bricking!
