Hi there. It might help if you posted an image or a link to which stickers or decals you are referring to. Generally however a well stocked arts and crafts store, stationery store or even an IT store with a good selection of printing supplies, will be able to provide you with either clear, or white decal sheets for which ever type of printer you have at home. I think there is a Staples and Office Depot in Edinburgh, but smaller stores usually have them too. Print your decals on cheap, regular paper first until you get the size right. They were screen-printed; white on clear, and they were reprints of various stickers from the 80's. No idea what happened to him. missouri_bb63 Posted January 12, 2010 (edited) I had the decal sheets for an inkjet printer and the printing quality was quite ok (I should add this was many years ago and since then printers and sheets have no doubt improved). But like Aawsum said and I also previously mentioned, they (especially clear), are quite expensive. You can also get regular sticker sheets, pre-cut or un-cut from manufacturers like Avery which you will also find in the stores I mentioned a previous post. Microsoft Word usually has many of the Avery label templates stored in its label printing function. I am really looking forward to seeing what you will be using these for! And that is a cool site! I just use my father's nice inkjet and photoshop. If only it were that simple. Sure, I can match LEGO colors digitally, but the way a printer interprets color data is nearly unique between printer models. One printer may print green lighter, one may print yellow with more orange. This is why clear stickers are preferred by many, but I just go with the method that doesn't require me to buy a specialized printer to get the results I want. --Tony Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

lego9vtrainfan Posted January 18, 2010 This is a good topic! I have had good success printing on Clear Gloss Inkjet labels from onlinelabels.com. I used these labels on my Eurostar and ICE 3 models, and the quality is excellent. Laser labels are also available. The nice thing with onlinelabels.com is that you can buy any number of sheets, say 10 or 20, and the cost is not all that unreasonable. I could not find such a product in my local office supply store, so their solution worked well. The sheets can also be ordered in a whole bunch of different label patterns, but I found the full page label to be convenient. Two problems with transparent stickers:The printed colours are slightly translucent, making it hard to use them on dark colours. Laser and inkjet printers don't have white ink... I agree that the colours are slightly translucent -- both of my applications were on white bricks, which worked great, but for darker colours you might have to experiment with more colour saturation. And yes, the lack of white ink is the biggest challenge, since in many cases one would like to put a translucent sticker with white lettering (for example) on dark bricks. I had discussions with this seller one time (I don't know where he went either!), and I seem to recall he used an Everest thermal printer to print white on clear. They have now become part of Rimage, which only seems to make printers for CDs and DVDs. Of course one could use clear CD labels (if they make such a thing) and then cut them out, but this is getting to be a pretty specialist (and expensive) product... perhaps there are other printer manufacturers too? This might a good solution for smaller stickers not larger then the width of the tape. Years ago (2000/2001) I was happy to find a copying service agency in Aachen (Germany) which had a copying maschine with white toner instead of black toner. If you want to print larger stickers, using the brother program, you can spread an image across tape widths and then line them up when you stick them - its pretty accurate. i was hoping for a higher resolution output, but it seems its done by litho printing or screen printing as far as i can find out.....
