Bossk Posted December 9, 2009 Hello guys , In early September, I started the construction of a Star Wars fig, a droideka. My first try: Recently, I updated my fig, and remake the legs and body of the droid. Comments & criticism are welcome
ADHO15 Posted December 9, 2009 (edited) Perfect! Just perfect! I notice it doesn't have those two side panels (shield generators, I think), so I assume it isn't a shielded version. Perfectly to scale with great colours and details. Very well done, Bossk. Edited December 9, 2009 by ADHO15
lightningtiger Posted December 9, 2009 Looks fanastic so true to the movie or even the ones seen in Clone Wars, dam good ! Excelent work, 'Bossk'. It's ready for slicing and dicing by a Jedi !
commdr_neyo Posted December 9, 2009 Perfect! Just perfect! I notice it doesn't have those two side panels (shield generators, I think), so I assume it isn't a shielded version. Perfectly to scale with great colours and details. Very well done, Bossk. The only thing I can add to that, is that I just love it Nothing more to say
Darth Legolas Posted December 9, 2009 Wow, that's a great UCS-sort of MOC! I love the detail! You got my hopes up this was finally a good minifig solution! But this is pretty awesome! If only you could shrink it down and give it to me!
Big Cam Posted December 9, 2009 Very very true to the movie. It looks fantastic. my only question is does it curl up into a ball?
the Inventor Posted December 9, 2009 If it would curl up into a ball, this moc would be perfect. But its an amazing moc nonetheless. the Inventor
Forresto Posted December 9, 2009 This is just brilliant! You have everything scaled perfectly and it just looks awesome. Nice work, is this your first MOc on Eurobricks?
Ratbat Posted December 10, 2009 (edited) Looks great! Interesting use of the flick missiles as eyes. Edited December 10, 2009 by Ratbat
Defi Posted December 10, 2009 Looks amazing! I do wonder though, is the main body support just using a single ball joint?
CloneCommanderDelta7 Posted December 10, 2009 (edited) Much better than the other one, with a better disc and arms. As ADHO said, "Perfect! Just Perfect!" Defi, it is supported by a singe ball joint (looks like it) but since it is folded up onto itself, it is very stable, or should be if experience has taught me anything! RileyC Posted December 10, 2009 Wow its just so perfect! It reminds me of the droideka in the dark side developer kit. Great work!
Commander Laquiet Posted December 10, 2009 This is brilliant work. You have made it look exactly like the real thing, all the colours are perfect and the piece selection is just right. Incredible. Very well done.
CommanderFox Posted December 10, 2009 Perfectly captured Bossk! Truly splendid work with this! The colours and shape is all Great! Well done with this! CommanderFox
Ras 74 Posted December 10, 2009 That is one very good Droideka you made Bossk! Very movie accurate, and good details as well. My only question is does it curl up into a ball? That is a good question!
YG-49 Posted December 10, 2009 (edited) That is a good question! Judging by the Head being held in by Technic, the arms being held in by clicky-hinges, and the legs being able to come off, (And possibly put upside down) I'd say it can. EDIT: I've created a pic shoing the places where it can fold up, thus proving it turns into a ball. Edited December 10, 2009 by YG-
Ar Sparfel Posted December 10, 2009 Good job, I like it. The second version is much better.
Bossk Posted December 12, 2009 Perfect! Just perfect! I notice it doesn't have those two side panels (shield generators, I think), so I assume it isn't a shielded version. Perfectly to scale with great colours and details. Very well done, Bossk. You are right, that because I didn't knew how make these panels, which parts did I should use? This is just brilliant! You have everything scaled perfectly and it just looks awesome. Nice work, is this your first MOc on Eurobricks? Nope: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?...ult_type=topics Very very true to the movie. It looks fantastic.my only question is does it curl up into a ball? If it would curl up into a ball, this moc would be perfect. But its an amazing moc nonetheless. EDIT: I've created a pic shoing the places where it can fold up, thus proving it turns into a ball. When I decided to build this droid, I haven't thought about the idea of making it curl up into a ball At first, it was destined to be a simple figurine like the Lego model. So I'll see if I can change a few things to make it possible to curl up into a ball . I took some pictures to show you everything that can move/rotate: The "neck" is made with Technic arm and plates, that why it can't curl up into a ball. Comparison with a minfig: the legs can also fold up
