Day 5

01.jpg

Satisfied about the results of the night Barney Vance was on his way back to his quarters.

02.jpg

But behind him came someone with nasty intentions.

03.jpg

Really nasty intentions.

04.jpg

Really really nasty intentions.

05.jpg

And soon Barney lay dead in a pool of his own blood.

06.jpg

As usual the crew was again met by Ivanova on the screen.

Good morning everyone. Today I seem to only have bad news again, one death last night, Barney Vance who was not-infected.

8 Days remaining until black hole's gravitational pull will be too strong for our engines to achieve escape velocity.

And in the interest of actually getting some voting going: If there's no conviction today it's quite likely that there will be some tragic accident occuring to someone completely at random the next night.

Rules

(borrowed from Dragonator )

This game will follow the basic conventions of a Mafia Game. Each "Day", you will be given 96 real hours in which to vote for someone to kill. The day will end as soon as a majority decision is reached, or when the 4 days are up. If someone has been convicted, you will find out their loyalty shortly after end of the day. After this a night phase will begin, which will last 48 real hours. Then the cycle will repeat. Those players with night actions must PM them to me during the night phase. If I do not receive them within the 48 hours, they will not be counted.

- There are two main sides in the game, not-infected and infected. Your winning criteria is included with your character PM.

- Voting is to be done in the day thread, and should follow the following format: Vote: Character (Player). Please note the use of bold. This is the only format that will be accepted. To unvote someone, the same applies: Unvote: Character (Player).

- There will be no voting in the first 24 hours of a game Day.

- No unvoting after a conviction has been reached. Do this more than once and you will be killed.

- You may not edit your posts. Do this more than three times and you will be killed.

- Out of character (OOC) posts should be kept in the Discussion thread.

- No metagaming.

- There are no clues in the pictures, so don't look for them.

- Do not post in the Day threads when dead. You're dead, act like it.

- Do not ever directly quote something the game moderator has sent to you via PM, whether it be your character information, night action results, or any other form of communication. Violation of this rule will result in a moderator kill. You may of course paraphrase any information you receive; if it is your own words then it is fine.

- Do not discuss game tactics or "play the game" outside the game thread, including in the General Discussion thread. You may communicate privately via PM, but this is at your own risk, and should be considered part of playing the game.

- Please be considerate towards the host. I will try my best to stick to the schedule, and your cooperation will help this greatly, particularly getting night actions in promptly.

Voting may start at 23:50 UTC Thursday, 3rd of December.

On Day 5 it takes 8 votes to convict.

Grr... I had doubted him, and now he's dead! He was trustworthy, so I do think he was insane. If he got infected results for Sarah and un-infected results for Engofi, that must mean...

And another thing to notice, there was only one killer out again last night. What does this mean? :hmpf_bad:

So perdictable. If we had followed my plan yesterday, we'd already be a step ahead, and know a lot more about a lot of people. I think we all know who our vote will go to, and if he's not guilty, then we access it from there. Though it seems unlikely.

Actually, may we discuss this first. Who are we going after today? Rocky, or Engofi. Engofi seems more clearly evil, while Rocky could be the killer, and we may want to knock him out first.

Also, the reason there have only been one killer was the Antres blocked the infected killer, who is Rocky, so only the uninfected killer was killing last night. That would only mean that the uninfected killer believed that Barney was infected, which is 100% possible.

La'H'Rok promised us he would kill with his knife and we've seen a killer using a hatchet instead. I received reasonably reliable intelligence about who La'H'Rok intended to kill and that kill did not take place. I'm wondering if my love :hmpf: Suze blocked him again. The surveillance footage shows no clues about any murder being blocked... La'H'Rok may be a good vote just in case he is in cahoots with Susan. Other targets include Engofi. It stands to reason that if there is someway for the infected to mess with the scanner, that the scanner has been passed on to another infected person now that poor Barney has been murdered. So checking to see if Engofi is indeed infected would be a good move. I also do not trust Ivan. His correspondence outside of the game is weak and somewhat inconsistent. That's what I think right now.

Barney, you looked guilty but you turned out to simply be insane. Based on that, I can't see any alternative to taking out Engofi, unless someone can offer a plausible alternative. Seeing as I was as confused as the rest of us, I'm going to try to be more open to suggestions today and less argumentative. Until someone pisses me off, of course.

 I'm ready to vote...

Likewise.

Except according to private messages between La'h'Rok and Barney, I was under the impression that they were going to use his killing powers to do a test, so I didn't block him. The person I blocked never left their quarters, so at the very least I know who the killer isn't, but I don't have any way to vouch for La'h'Rok. Nor do I have any way to assume he committed the killing.

This isn't getting any better...

Damnit, We lost another uninfected....again :sadnew::hmpf_bad:

It seems as though we have little choice but to test the Engofi theory. :sceptic:

I think I would be willing to vote for him seeing as there is no seemingly reasonable alternative. :sadnew:

Did anyone learn anything of use last night?

I never told him I would or wouldn't block him, but he seemed to think I wasn't going to, based on that private correspondence we were all receiving. I was also under the impression he had a specific target in mind and they didn't die, so I can see him as a valid target for the day, unless he can offer some explanation (though I can't see what it would be). Then again, if there is an infected blocker, our discussions yesterday may have told them exactly who to stop in the night and we're right back where we started.

That said, I am not in cahoots with anyone, I don't trust a single one of you that much. Everywhere I turn I see wieners or suspicions of wieners...

After everything we went through yesterday, all it has achieved us is the lose of another uninfected crew member, and our investigator at that. Even though he was getting wrong results, he could still have been useful to us. The question now is, why was there only a single death last night, and why were these plans Micheal is talking about not carried through? I think we need an explanation and fast, because we are definitely going to be making a conviction today.

At the moment La'H'Rok is looking extremely suspicious to me, and I look forward to his explanation of what happened last night. With the death of Barney, I too wonder about Engofi as well, it seems highly likely to me that Barney was insane, or else there was some other factor we don't know about.

One of two people is lying to me by private correspondence. Either the love of my life, Suze or a lump of coal named La'H'Rok. La'H'Rok told us last night that he would go after one of our more quiet crew members. Suze didn't block him and our ally Barney was killed with a hatchet. La'H'Rok cleverly told us he would not kill anyone last night with his knife. He used the hatchet instead, get it? So, I believe we should vote for La'H'Rok because he is more likely to be lying to me than Suze.

That begs us to question where our loyal night killer is. I see by the security logs that our non-posting crew members; Varax, Niwrad, DAVE and Edna are present on the ship just not participating in our discussions. Could one of these people be our un-infected killer or do the infected have a blocker?

Also, these are the people who voted along with La'H'Rok yesterday against Suze: I Scream Clone, pedro, Ricecracker, JimButcher, Sandy. Five people... Just thought I'd point that out. I say we vote for La'H'Rok today since we know he has been killing at night. There are mixed results at best for killers we've seen in the security footage. If he is indeed infected, I say we take a look at that list of four people who voted along with him.

As I said to a few crew mates via private discussions. I was attempting to go after a non-poster. (You know who) I was assaulted and knocked out on my way to do this. Now there is a chance of one or more blockers out there. Everyone knows I am a night killer, I have already stated this, I told many people that I am the loyal killer and I use a sacred knife for my kills! So it appears the infected killer has reared his head and Antares is possibly lying about who he blocked.

I only have to point out what Antares said, "I never told him I would or wouldn't block him, but he seemed to think I wasn't going to" whereas Antares knew what I was going to do. If I wanted to kill Antares I could have yet chose to try and help us get rid of a non poster. If this is all people are basing their voting on then the Infected are well on their way to winning.

If you choose not to work with me then, good luck suckers!

Back to work. Not that you will believe me but anyway it is impossible for me to be infected, my enviroment suit and my fishbowl protect me. Look at the hints I dropped especially in day 1. I said that I know 1 other person who cant be infected, ME.

If you still choose to vote for me then you will regret it.

As I said to a few crew mates via private discussions.

From what I've seen, you said it to half the crew, including at least one person I know is infected, but know I'll never get everyone to support dealing with. That's pretty open behaviour for a killer who doesn't want to be stopped.

Speaking of which... why didn't the other killer take you out? I suspect it's someone who is afraid of the confrontation or who isn't participating much and doesn't realise it. At this point, I'd like to see a killer vs killer confrontation to settle the matter once and for all.

I don't believe you. When I block something where the person is taking real action, like walking around with a knife, it's shown for all to see. I didn't block you because you said you wouldn't kill me, which seemed like a great test, but I'm beginning to think you can't kill me, and I'm starting to come up with a good reason why.

For now, that's not the point here.

The point is, you didn't do what you said and there is no indication why. If you were blocked by another blocker, I would expect the AI to show that or at least have you both arrive late or something indicating action. If we aren't even being given that basic information, we can't rely on anything and the AI is out to get us and I'll personally ban it from every starship in the fleet, as soon as I get a chance.

I only have to point out what Antares said, "I never told him I would or wouldn't block him, but he seemed to think I wasn't going to" whereas Antares knew what I was going to do. If I wanted to kill Antares I could have

I thought I knew what you were going to do as the day ended, at least in the sense that you wouldn't kill me. At that time I chose who to block, before your PMs back and forth with others. When I saw who were going to target, I thought it sounded reasonable as I had suspected them myself. When they didn't die... it's hard not to jump to a conclusion there.

Back to work. Not that you will believe me but anyway it is impossible for me to be infected, my enviroment suit and my fishbowl protect me. Look at the hints I dropped especially in day 1. I said that I know 1 other person who cant be infected, ME.

If only it was that simple. While you may always be seen in that suit, there has been some time in your past when you weren't in it, so for all we know, you could be the King of the Wieners and leading this whole attack.

Seriously, that just isn't how this game ... of life ... is played or we would also be able to rule out pumpkinhead and mandydroidy, but we can't. Next the trolls would claim they can't be infected for some biological reason, etc.

I also find it curious that the AI didn't report me being knocked out as well, I can only conclude that the AI is infected by electronic wieners and should have her hard drive virus scanned.

I definitely attempted to go after the intended target but was knocked out from behind, sorry that's all I know from the night. Though how a rock can be knocked out twice in two nights is a mystery to me. Perhaps they used paper, because as we all know paper does beat rock if I am not mistaken.

I have my doubts about traitors, but find it interesting that Barney was killed when a lot of us knew he was going to investigate Antares, and you yourself stated you blocked Barney on the first night by luck stopping him investigating you. So my reasoning is you have something to hide at the moment as twice now investigations haven't happened to you.

Good luck people, we will hopefully figure out who the infected are soon and maybe even have enough voters to convict. Though at this stage we can probably all breathe easy during the day as no one seems to know how to vote

If Barney really was the ship's investigator, it really is a shame to lose him, but on the other hand, if we couldn't trust his words anyway, then we might be better off with him not messing with our heads. :sceptic:

The person I blocked never left their quarters, so at the very least I know who the killer isn't, but I don't have any way to vouch for La'h'Rok.

Since I know of my husband's creepy habit of observing my comings and goings, I am pretty certain that you blocked me. I hope you guys now believe that I am not a killer of any sort, nor am I infected in any way other than having a leech-like husband stuck on me.

I admit that I do have a night action, but it is quite unordinary. I believe the A.I. just wanted to add one more new twist to this game... of life. With no allies to speak of, I find it quite hard to be of use in this case, even with that night action.

I see by the security logs that our non-posting crew members; Varax, Niwrad, DAVE and Edna are present on the ship just not participating in our discussions. Could one of these people be our un-infected killer or do the infected have a blocker?

Ah, never mind. I read my quote again, and I realized that Michael was talking about two different groups of people. The whole "also, these are the people..." phrase just confused me.

But how do you know there are exactly five infected? And wouldn't the infected at least be smart enough to not vote for the same person all together? I know I wouldn't be that stupid if I were infected... :sceptic:

You guys all seem to be so happy throwing insults at each other, that I didnt think I could possibly add any more to the conversation. Also, after coming bacl from my duties on the bridge, I was about to vote, but you'd all gone and the meeting hall door was locked, so I assumed that I'd wait till tomorrow.

Remember, my planet and body clock runs on a different time scale to all of you humans and other assorted aliens, so I'm rather bad at timing. :sadnew:

I blocked Barney on the first night because I had a feeling about him. There is no way I could have known his alignment or role at that point, and I wouldn't have had a problem with being investigated, though given his results, I'd probably be dead now since he probably would have gotten a mistaken reading like he did with Sarah, so I can't say I regret the luck there.

Since I know of my husband's creepy habit of observing my comings and goings, I am pretty certain that you blocked me. I hope you guys now believe that I am not a killer of any sort, nor am I infected in any way other than having a leech-like husband stuck on me.

I do know that you didn't do anything last night, and based on past experience, you pretty much can't be a killer, though I'm fascinated by the rest of what you say...

I admit that I do have a night action, but it is quite unordinary. I believe the A.I. just wanted to add one more new twist to this game... of life. With no allies to speak of, I find it quite hard to be of use in this case, even with that night action.

Unless you're a neutral of some kind, you have allies, even if you are uncertain of them. At some point, if you have a means of helping, you're going to have to take a chance, like I am by being so open about things.
