Broughton High School

Hey all!

Well, it's finally done, after a month of work and almost three hundred dollars in parts. Without further ado, I present to you the facade of Broughton High School in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The real thing:

More pics:

At an angle.

Left-hand side.

The side of the left-hand side.

The inner side of the left-hand side. The building was constructed in three sections to allow transportation. You can see the slight separation between them in this photo, but it can of course be made to disappear with the addition of a few well-placed pieces.

The bell tower.

Notice how I used shadowbox building, so that even without an interior, there isn't random crap behind the windows making it look bad from OUTSIDE.

My fat cat staking his place.

Now for some people...

Joe, the troublemaker. He peed in some poor girl's backpack the other day in Healthful Living.

Mr. Hagen, the filthy Canadian Drama teacher.

Some of you may remember Patrick, who is up to his usual questionable deeds.

Jordan and Keenan, my best friends. I gave them short legs just to piss them off. :-D

Mr. McCants (a.k.a. Cantsy-Pants), my Latin I teacher last year and my Greek I teacher this year. He can do some seriously kickass backflips.

Roy Teel, our new principal.

Yours truly.

And finally, the school at NCLUG (transporting it was a small nightmare), along with another mysteeeerious project... coming to you soon.

Gallery when public.

Comments, suggestions, all welcome here per usual.

The school will be on display at (fittingly enough) Broughton High School from November 2nd to December 8th.

Bloody Jay, I bet I am not the first one to say this, but you are my idol! That is such a terrific job! *y* You should be a professional modeller. People might pay a large sum of money for projects like these. I know I whould! ;)

P.S. I wounder what the other mysterious project will be! ;)

Great. Thanks for the "real" picture to compare with. You've done a great job. I wish I had the time and space to do some MOCing myself. RESPECT!

A nice MOC. I like the characters and colour scheme. Do you really look like Potter?

Thanks guys!

@ Chewie - shhh...

@ Lost Viking - nothing on the inside. Of course, if you provide me with the cash, I'll gladly add one. ;)

@ Mr. Lego Builder - hm... that's an idea. *twisted*

@ languages - of course. ;)

@ StarWars4J - that's $300 in parts off Bricklink (as well as a Yoda that our own jmenomeno sold off at a VERY fair price!), not all the parts in the model. That would be more like $800. It's amazing how fast projects even this size become so expensive!

@ KimT - thanks! :-D

@ MattZitron - no, the Secret Squirrel project comes AFTER this one.

@ Norro - that's Parker, not Potter! :-P

Looks great *satis* Your model that is !!

But the real building is a bit boring :$

You could spice it up with a "good fight in the school yard" or a playground !

And call it artistic freedom ;)

Otherwise great details *wub*

I think it looks fine. But a fight in the front would be interesting ;) .

Spot on Jay. You got all the details in there, I compared the model to pic of the school and I must say, I cant see any diferences! ;)

I like the work you did on the side of the building here..

Nice stuff, it really gives a brick work effect!

Now, I want to see that smashed up area of the school where the truck drove into! ;)

Thanks all!

Jon; yeah, there are at least a couple hundred of those little 1x1 tiles all over the school. The brickwork is on the entire thing, not just the side (well, the third story doesn't have much, but still). I'll have some more things going on around the building when it's on display... check back soon. ;)
