LDD MOC Articulated Truck

Recommended Posts

indexed.gif V-LC-04E

I have just designed and uploaded this truck using LDD. I used techniques for the chassis design from 7998 Heavy Hauler and tried to get it to look a bit like a Volvo F16. Cost currently just over £50. I shall carry on tweaking but I have got this so far:

As always, comments and criticisms welcomed!

This is what I had in mind when I was working on it:

Looks good rriggs, I just don't really know about all the white, but that is probably just a matter of personal taste.

I do love the fact it is up to minifig scale  !

I agree about the size - much better 8-wide

Nice to see a truck aimed at modelling a real one

Shame it's £50, but proper models do cost a lot on LDD!

Been playing about a bit more with LDD and trucks. The 7998/Volvo based original is on the left. The truck in the middle is heavily based on the Lego Ferrari Iveco team truck c2006. The final truck is built from the ground up to my own design to look like a DAF. I wanted to experiment with the grille design particularly on this one as having the DAF-style grille doesn't gel very well with having curved front corners on the truck. A lot of fiddling made it happen though!

All about £20 each :hmpf_bad:

The truck(s) looks nice and ´clean´, however I would not buy them. 8-wide is a little too wide for my taste.

Nice LDD MOCs, though!

Well done! You made a simple european truck and you did it fine. The best truck you built is Iveco as I think. I think you should buy it, if it costs not very much.
