Nice army Lazer, this is one of my favourite Lego factions too. I'll have to do a photo-shoot and post my updated dark green army - it has grown considerably since I last posted it here (especially with the beautiful CMF Knight torso from the current series)!

Thanks! I am looking forward to see your army! I like the Dragon Kingdom colors very much! (I also like Black Knights, and the Wolfpack factions from the Castle theme.)

So I decided to try something a little different, and made a video of my army. I will be posting this on the Pirate thread as well since I mix the two. But anyways, here are my forces.

Don't know if this really qualifies as an "army" as it's just a few minifigures and they're not uniform or thematically linked. What they do have in common is that they're all fantasy/historical and all make use of new parts from the Disney CMF line.

Well, I don't think it's appropriate in this thread, indeed, it's more like a figbarf.

I really like the turban with Genie's plume.

I should post an army here, sometime. I have something in mind for a GoH army

Hello all, I'm trying to build a small Stark and Bolton army from the Game of Thrones series. I'm not really satisfied how it looks now. Now I come to you all for advice, perhaps some of you already have experience in building such armies/soldiers.

As the body I'm using the Uruk-Hai torso and legs to represent the leather armour. The arms are dark bluish gray ones. The helmet is the hardest part, I haven't found an official, or custom, one that equals the shape of the series. For the moment I'm using the classic helmet castle with neck protectors in metallic color. Perhaps a better color is the new flat-silver coloured one? The shield I'm using is the one from Boromir from the Lord of the Rings line. The Boltons wear the conquistador helmet, but since it doesn't exist in a silver variation, I'm using the black one.

Any advice or help is appreciated! Thanks

Tell me AZ - where's the head piece from on the (oriental?) style minfig holding the string of pearls?

The hat is by SI-DAN. I got it from the Minifigcat store ( http://www.minifigca...ome.php?cat=385 ) along with the bowl and prayer beads.

You're quite right that the minifigure represents an oriental character. Specifically, it's a Japanese mendicant monk. You can see a previous version of the minifigure with plain black arms and legs among other Japanese-themed minifigures here: http://www.brickshel...ymios_court.jpg . The Disney CMFs allowed me to give him black and white arms and legs. Mendicant monks still dress that way in Japan today ( http://glennportal.blogspot.co.uk/2011/10/japanese-beggar-monks.html ).

Brilliant thanks! (for both the heads up AND the info :D)

Hi there everyone, i have been posting much ehre but as I was cleaning up the dust from 2 of my sets today, I decided to take some picture of them.

Here's the Blue Lion faction which I have put together (12 spearmen, 4 man-at-arms, 4 knights, 6 archers, 2 crossbowmen, 1 king and 1 queen)

iABejrRh.jpg

IqpHubQl.jpg

G9EC3cZl.jpg

To the left of this set is a similar make up of troops and they are the Red Lions faction.

hbYWEQgl.jpg

9eVksjpl.jpg

here's a pic of both the 2 of them side by side

Me7557Ll.jpg

Also noticed that there are some members who use these:

NpAfCSRl.jpg

I think they are big and not very functional especially when my kids try to pose the minifigs on castle turrets and ramparts. For making minifigs stand without falling, it use these:

6fZvSK1l.jpg

A size comparison with the black base, the green base is 2x4 studs whilst the black one is 3x4 i believe

9hR5r66l.jpg

An example of what I am talking about, you can see that the green base takes up a lot less space and can easily fit onto the narrow castle ramparts and turrets of the lego castle as opposed to the black ones.

here are 2 of my customized elven infantry o the base.

EJQSmTul.jpg

You can get these from bricklink for quite a low price. I bought 500 (i think it is about 2p ea)of these as I regularly play tabletop wargames using lego with my kids.

Anyway that for now :) I might post my other armies in future as I clean up the dust and tidy them up.

Trying to update my custom Gondor army, but can't decide by myself which pauldrons to use or whether to use them at all or not.

hY8ETA.jpg

From left to right: 1. with round pauldrons (steel) 2. with round pauldrons (gray) 3. without pauldrons

What do you think?

Those look great! Definitely prefer the pauldrons, but with that lighting, can't tell a difference between them.

Agreed, they look better with, and I can't really tell which of the two is better, however the pauldrons do push the minifigs towards "doesn't look like Lego" territory. I think maybe go with a colour the same as the helmet if possible.

Thanks both! Sorry for the picture quality.

Steel color

Silver (even though looking more gray than silver to me)

I would like to use the same color unfortunately i didn't make the helmets and they are not a standard lego gray.

But i think i will go with your advice and use the silver one as closest color to the helmets.

Just over a year ago I posted my original dark green themed Lenfald army in this thread here. Since then it has grown considerably and today I finally got around photographing it. Enjoy!

27917119733_dd0d2eccd3_z.jpg

Huscarls and Highlanders. Whether from the feudal or clan systems, these men are no farmers, they are the professional warriors of Lenfald and the backbone of any army. (38 heavy infantry/cavalry)

28532948245_e93abb5b35_z.jpg

Shock Infantry. The tallest, strongest and most heavily armoured of the infantry, these elite warriors specialise in breaking enemy shield-walls. (16 very heavy infantry)

27917125183_a820ec9fc5_z.jpg

Regular Militia. The militia or fyrd of Lenfald make up the bulk of any army. Equipment and training varies from region to region and the men only serve part time or in times of need. (25 medium infantry)

28426986682_95b7ff9354_z.jpg

Pike Militia. These men are killers of cavalry, armed with a pike twice the height of a man and a kettle helm. They are usually formed from the militia or fyrd and given extra training for their specialised role. (34 pike infantry)

27916241924_89e5c71eb5_z.jpg

Irregulars. Rangers, Scout Snipers and Woodsmen, the forests of Lenfald can be a dangerous place for enemies of the state. Usually armed with the longbow the country is famous for, these men and women, when shielded by heavy infantry, give a Lenfel army a hefty long range punch. Also commonly used as scouts.(21 Irregulars)

27917123363_2e0161de2c_z.jpg

Knights. Somewhat atypical of Lenfel cavalry, these heavily armed and armoured Knights form a mobile iron fist on the battlefield. (14 very heavy cavalry)

Total Army Size: 148 troops. (Note: no figure or weapon/part has been used twice! The whole army can be assembled together if required!

Thanks BrickJagger. I like to imagine the 2 kings are twins and they managed to find queens who are twins as well :P , which is why everything is more or less the same ;)

May I invite the ladies and gentlemen to have a look at my custom Elven army? I am sure you will find it quite unique as I have cut, glued, painted and collected the best I can during the last 3 years.

For example it includes units like this one:

And a choice of war machines:

And magical creatures:

I cannot post all 69 pictures here, but you can find pictures of all these customized figs on my flickr:
