Enjoy! Looks great! Swift is a nice programming language, I teach it in college. In a few years high school kids will surpass minor program students with these great initiatives ;) Wish that was available in by time.

Available June 5 on an iPad near you!

This is super awesome! Might actually push me over the edge to actually buy an EV3 kit one of these days. It would also be sweet if they brought this over to the Mac for development with Xcode.

I've seen this as a commercial for a non-LEGO product (the dancing robot, if that's what you meant by LEGO) . I'm pretty sure that this is made by a separate company.

Then you did not see the video? There are multiple EV3's in it.

Now that the update's available, can someone confirm it works with the home edition?  The press release referred specifically to "Lego Mindstorms Education EV3".  I couldn't see a reason why it wouldn't work with the home edition, but then Mindstorms isn't my specialist subject!

Home and Education are the same brick. The only difference can be the firmware (if I am not mistaken). The education version supports datalogging. It could be that Swift needs that.

However, you can upgrade a Home brick with Education firmware.

I will be testing it soon.

Very nice. I will be picking up a new iPad soon, so I can't wait to get started with Swift Playgrounds.

You can already download Playgrounds 1.5 it at this moment, I just did and added the LEGO extensions. Bugger that I lent my EV3 brick to my former colleague who is teaching a robotics course at this moment and had some failing bricks ;( waiting till summer holidays ;)

Hmmm too bad you can't start testing. Maybe your colleague can test it for you

He also mentions version 2.0, which is available via Testflight. Or is that version 1.5?

Good idea ;)

2.0 will come later for iOS 11, 1.5 is the one that is available now, even on iOS 10.

All I know is that Lepin has them in Green and White....
Just kidding, I don't have any additional info, but they indeed look cool. Would be nice if there were instructions in the app.

I am in doubt whether to get a new iPad Pro 10,5 or 12,9 inch. Can't make up my mind.
