Sir Dillon Posted February 1, 2008 Hello! The contest on FBTB has prompted me to build my first ever steampunk creation; a steam A-wing. Brickshelf gallery: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=298535 Probably not of winning quality, but I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. Comments and criticisms are welcome, please let me know what you think. :-)

Cardinal Brick Posted February 1, 2008 That looks really good, I do love a good bit of steampunk. The engine block looks great as already mentioned it has a very good level of detail, one question though is there any lift provided from the underside? Sir Dillon Posted February 2, 2008 I'll move that to the TAWY forum ;-) Whoops, sorry about that. Thanks for moving it, and for the comment. My only critisism is that all of those 1x4 brown tiles make it look a tad bit plain. Thanks for the comment. I agree that it does look a bit plain in the front. I would have liked to add in a few grill pieces and such, but because of the way it's put together, I could only use 1 x 4s. That looks really good, I do love a good bit of steampunk. The engine block looks great as already mentioned it has a very good level of detail, one question though is there any lift provided from the underside? I'm not sure if I understand your question. There are some propellors on the bottom of the ship. Would they provide any lift? I would think so, but don't really know. Thanks everyone for the comments! Sir Dillon Posted February 5, 2008 WoW! This thing looks great! You should enter! This and Pirana's Are so far my Fav's posted Here :-P Lots of lovley greebles! *wub* Stauder I actually already did enter, and it made it into the voting round. [link] If you like my creation, I'd really appreciate your vote. But vote for the one you like... I personally think most of the final creations are better than mine. I'm pretty glad I made it at all.

Hewman Posted February 6, 2008 As others have said, the engines look great. The use of all the tiles don't have quite a steampunk feel to me (hey I'm no expert just a guy giving his thoughts). They seem to look a bit like a rickety wooden plank bridge. But hey keep up the steampunk MOCing, they're my favourite type of MOCs.
