Sadly, it is now in the past tense. I have some nice pictures (particularly of the gummy contest) and I will post them in here soon.

It's clear that Aaron is disqualified in the simultaneous spitting sequence

I'm soooo jealous... wish I could have been there with you all! After tough negotiations with my wife, "we" decided to go a teddy-bear convention in Münster that weekend instead...

Oh well, next year!

I echo LegoFjotten's sentiment - I tried pretty much everything to be able to go, but it wasn't possible to find anybody to replace me at work. And on top of that, I caught a nasty cold and actually stayed home from work on Saturday... so in that respect, I'm kind of glad I wasn't going, because then I probably would have stayed home because of the health issue... which would have been very, very annoying.

Next year indeed! If you can just avoid my work weeks, please ;)

I had a great time, and it was really nice to meet you all.  I really wish it had worked out a little better and that I was able to spend more time with you all, but the good news is my wife has already asked twice when we're going to Billund next year, so it's already looking like there's a good chance I'll see you next year!

Thank you for your replies so far.

For those who haven't been to the party, I do a pictorial review of the event.

Wednesday: Come together. Socialising and getting together. Welcoming especially those who haven't been to any event before.
For the first time: SNOW - and therefore a longer journey for the most of us as expected! :hmpf_bad:

33540549644_2b50e0de85_z.jpg

Thursday: LEGOLAND! Weather conditions were bad (see above), but almost optimal for the Battle Scene of Hoth

34382369345_bbc891bd8a_z.jpgand not-so-optimal for other scenes.

34382370205_103c178c78_z.jpg

But who needs good weather when the only thing of interest are the 4 AFOL temples (which are all inside):
- Fabrik (my total time spent: 2 hours)
33540548234_0c3f09e6d4_z.jpg

- The special offers tent (2 hours)
33588640344_3c12fed215_z.jpg
Digging for extra special parts (that could easily be bought on bricklink for just pennies) like the new 2x2 curved tiles in gold and dark red for >100 minutes?
Yep - we're AFOL's, aren't we?

- The big shop (1,5 hours)
Wohoo, they had the new minifigure series 17 there!
Wtf? 3,99€??? This is insane!!!

-> bought 7 of them.

- The Dino grill (1 hour)
You need to refill somehow, somewhere...

Afterwards: Self made dinner. For example Currywurst!

33540546584_6c6b8dfabf_z.jpg

Afterwards all contestants presented their MOCs.
The rules were: Build a Brickhead from your country.
Can you guess who is who?

All entries sorted by their number of votes:
34222912532_66b196986f_h.jpg
Bricktect built 2 versions (Mickey and Elvis) but obviously chose the wrong one to compete. (but hey, I'm not complaining... )

Winner Skalldyr picking his prize.

You find all the entries (bigger photos) and their descriptions here.

Friday: Still bad weather, so the planned trip to the historical center of Günzburg fell through. Instead: Late breakfast und spare time.
Or sorting (the bricks for this year's event set - the center of Günzburg/Architecture style)
33997639170_b3da9674e9_z.jpg

In the afternoon: Work! Started with a quiz. 26 questions from easy to hard to impossible to know (but still interesting  )
33997637340_b4b5e06e5d_z.jpg
33997632210_2646e13071_z.jpg

Other contests: Guess, how many 2x4 bricks put next to each other are 1m long. Or estimate the amount of 2x4 bricks that weigh 125g heavy. Mmmh. Easy, you say? Well, ask the eventees...

Followed by building the event set:
34251532861_aa0211ddbd_z.jpg

Afterwards: Bowling in the Legoland village. 8 lanes with nice LEGO decoration. Who won by the way? It must have been MstrOfPpts, right?
34389136106_69d47b1cb2_z.jpg

Dinner in Gasthof Linde. Typical bavarian restaurant and almost our regular's dinner location. We have been there for four times now!

The evening was filled with talks and contests again.
For example these:
Look at the model to the right for 30 sec and then build it from the image in your mind.

34614206465_ea218fdc6c_z.jpg
34483722481_6e0cd0b771_z.jpg

Finally the group shot:
33540554284_8128175b64_z.jpg

From left to right: Bfenz, Calanon, Dfenz, Ace, Kitty, Vaionaut, JanetvanD's daughter, Cwetqo, RC 1136, Elena, Jim, Cecilie, Chubays, Aredhel, Copmike, Manuel (Aredhel's husband with newest EB member Emilia ), Amfenz, LasseD, Bricktect, MstrOfPpts, Elleana and Skalldyr. In front: Holodoc and Peppermint_M

Then: Talks, for example: How to get rid of that darn keyring from Kiss-kiss-tuxedo-Batman?
33620412573_79c0c01d24_z.jpg

By the way: The candle trick is working!

Saturday: Munich!

We travelled by train and had a nice walk through the city, including a lot of side trips to all sorts of shops.

Oh, Minifig series 17 again!
34251572821_ac5d81ab1d_z.jpg

Or you find something like this:
34430663815_407897dc09_z.jpg

The route passed famous landmarks like the Frauenkirche, Marienplatz, Hofbräuhaus, Hofgarten and so on. Unlike 4 years ago the owners of outside restaurants were still in bad weather mode, so we didn't have the opportunity to sit somewhere outside at the Hofgarten. Instead we went for the Olympic shopping mall and afterwards headed back to the center walking through the beautiful park area around the Olympic Center (built for the 72's Olympics).
34251557131_fc4792b8db_z.jpg

What could have been a better place for the annual rat spitting contest?

34388922946_e00ea35f70_z.jpg

Started in deep night in a backyard on a parking lot in Günzburg 2009, this time we were olympic for the first time (you can clearly see it from the photos) in the open public!
(Not many supporters though besides the eventees...)

The instructor Copmike. Vaionaut and RC 1136 can't believe what they see.
34382461625_ae2a12b10d_z.jpg

Preparations and a first attempt from Skalldyr:
33997742560_598a7c7381_z.jpg

Last year's winner MstrOfPpts:
34382486075_7ed7708dbf_z.jpg

And this year's winner - which was me, so I don't have photos of that, but you can see one in the post above.
Advice: Yellow is the winning colour!

The supporters:

Lunch/dinner we had in the Agustiner Biergarten.

Ellena trying his first "Brotzeit":

Back in Günzburg: Building and sorting for the last time:

Sunday: Going back home.

Of course: Beautiful weather! It could have been so nice...

Ahhh, finaly did some sleeping. Leaving the event early to travel to Paris for another few days was quite tiring. The event was awesome - as they always are! Was nice to meet some new people and surely see you next time! Thanks everybody for attending and providing us with these lovely pictures.

As for the bowling - I believe Dfenz was destroying us in the first round, I did quite good in the second though :)

And now for the rat spitting - one of the reasons to attend an event! This years location is even topping the one from Windsor, which was just at the parking lot in front of LEGOLAND. The more people, the better :D Maybe we should really think about adding some new disciplines as we already talked about some ideas. Oh, and by the way, I think it's clear from elleana's last picture that Holodoc should be disqualified for crossing too ...

Yeah exactly ;)

Thank you from the Aredhel family, too. I guess Manuel enjoyed too though the weather was crappy - guess with better weather it would have been much more fun for him ;)

see you all next year in Billund :)
