[MOC] The Pirate Haven (Name pending)

Recommended Posts

Hi again everyone!

Here is a countinuation of my "classic style" lego MOC. This time a complete original of a pirate haven inspired by the port-city of Nassau from the "Black Sails" HBO show.

An overview of the pirate haven:

A cast away on a raft from set no. 6273:

Shipwrecks and natives all cramed up in the unexplored twelve by few studs area:

Yo-ho yo-ho a party life for me:

And last, the smallest ship sailing the Caribbean Brickseas is the fast Cutter flying the red "no quarter shall be given" Jolly Roger, now at port with its crew unloading the loot from the latest raid:

I love how random and disorganized it all is.  Also a really big fan of the little privateer, and I love that you found a use for the old rope bridge!

Nice work PerotheLegoMan.
There are A LOT of great elements that bring this build together.  The accordion is pretty cool.  Nice work on the brick-built cannons. I like the small pirate ship.  It reminds me of a miniature Black Seas Barracuda. :pir-classic:

Fantastic!  This is so full of detail, and you've done a good job of concealing the big raised baseplate. Those brick-built cannons are nice. I especially like the one rusting away by the shipwreck. I like the inclusion of so many classic elements like the rope bridge and the black watchtower. And the accordion is neat too. This looks like it would be a great play piece. It's certainly a good pirate haven.

Thank you all for so many nice words about the pirate haven :)
Didn't Know you'd all enjoy the cutter so much. Will try to do a few better photos of it :)

Even more than the accordion, I like the use of the feather to create wine falling out of the woman's glass next to the accordion, and I'm definitely looking forward to more pictures of the cutter!

Have you thought about making the barrel of the rusting cannon out of brown pieces instead of black?

I have to agree that one of the best things about your recent sets are the playability.  It certainly adds a great deal of fun to your layouts.

Not really I didn't. Would look better definitely but don't have all the parts to make it brown (espacilly the pin in Brown colour?) and had the Black pieces laying around. If I manage to get by the pieces will change it!

Will try to post them as soon as I'm able to :)
