Wow, the work with the sails is really great!

I hope it will be widely adopted, there are many ship models without sails that appears as naked!

PS: I sent you a private message.

I agree with Calabar - fantastic job!

Thanks, Calabar & Superkalle.

This one was better tuned and correct size. I will try to make Triangular sail later.

2552 Raised Baseplate 32x32 with Ramp and Pit - Updated and Corrected - LXF File

A number of changes were made to Solidbrick's brickbuilt version to make it more geometrically accurate:

- The ramp was widened and the vertical walls alongside the ramp were removed and replaced with proper sloped walls.

- Stud and flat placement was corrected at the top and bottom of the ramp as well as in the pit.

- The pit wall angle now correctly matches the exterior wall angle, and the convex corner in the pit was restored.

- Concave corners were left empty, rather than filled. The size of the corners in the pit was reduced from 2x2 to 1x1.

- Longer and larger plates and tiles were used for a reduced part count and cleaner look with less seams. The interior was also hollowed out.

- The part count was reduced from 562 to 327, a 42% decrease.

- Images from Peeron were used to make the corrections.

A quick comparison of the new version on the left to the old version on the right should make most of the corrections obvious:

Please note that I had to use the BrickLink catalog for this custom "brick" because Peeron only lists the tauntaun as separate pieces, and not as a complete assembly.

Tauntaun, Complete Assembly (64800pb01c01) from LEGO Star Wars 7749 Echo Base:

LXF file

It comes in both white and light bley because the prototype was in white, and the real version is in light bley. It doesn't come with a place to hold the reins, but comes with two "teeth" instead. Saddles can fit onto them just fine.

I take no credit at all for the design; it was created by LEGO designers as seen in LEGO Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary.

(I have no idea at all how to add custom backgrounds, so I used the "building guide mode" to get a blue one.)

Love the look of this assembly... but is the link broken for everyone else, too? :(

Great job on those tracks and sails, bbqqq. I didn't see that you'd added them to my models. I'll be sure to include them when I update those sets. :classic:

Thought I'd upload a few more custom creatures that I built when updating my Star Wars sets...

Here are both versions of Jabba the Hutt...

Your Jabba looks very good, ADHO15! I got a version up too, but mine is rather bulky. Please feel free to check it out (if you haven't already) :classic:

Thanks. :classic:

Yeah, I saw it. Nice job. Mine should be closer to scale and more functionally similar, I think.

I updated the index in the first post, because it was... well... very outdated (from 2010)

As requested in this post...

40245c00 - Animal 3-headed Dog Complete Assembly

Original (thumbnail borrowed from Peeron and resized by me)

fluffyreal.jpg

My custom version (based off my rendering of the wolf in set 7015)

fluffy.png

LXF File

As in my rendering of the wolf, the ears are not actually attached, but everything is grouped together so Fluffy can be picked up and moved around as one unit. In addition, my custom part seems to be much more poseable than the original part, but the jaws don't open and close.
