Help us coin a new term for LEGO's brick color reddish brown:

StarWars for Justin calls reddish brown rown because red + brown = rown

I, hinckley39 call reddish brown frown because fake + brown = frown (plus it makes me frown :-( )

Which term do you prefer?

:-P

Rown seems the more sensible choice- why would the new brown be fake? The Lego company distributes it, so... :-/

because it doesn't resemble brown in any sense of the term...

Hmm. I like "frown", because I dislike the new brown, but the new brown isn't necessarily fake, so I think Rown fits better...

"frown" is really bias. the term implies that you don't like the color... so theoretically, i should choose "rown." however, to me "rown" is not the combination of red+brown... "rown" is "brown" without the "b." so really, the combination of red+brown should be something like "rebrown" or "redrown."

so because i don't read "rown" as red+brown, i voted "frown."

Well, the phrase bley wasn't meant to be derogatory. It was simply a matter of blue+grey = bley. It was simply a way of describing new grey which has a blue or cool tinge when compared to the earlier colour. I don't like calling the new colours fake or inferior, so for me rown is the better choice. Of course, I'll probably simply continue to call the new brown reddish-brown as I have been doing for 3 years.

ya, that is why "frown" doesn't work for me.

it is perfect how "bley" sounds bad though when describing bluish gray :-D

I didn't vote for either one. I usually call the colour 'reddish brown,' but if I was forced to give it a nickname, I've always thought that 'bred' was pretty good.

Bred... I like that name. It sounds much tastier than Frown or Rown.

I've come to the conclusion, Grand Moff V, that you are simply instigating people for your amusement. :-P
